Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagion caused severe acute respiratory syndrome by coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease has spread worldwide, resulting in an ongoing pandemic. Symptoms of COVID-19 are variable, but often include fever, cough, fatigue, breathing difficulties, and loss of smell and taste.

The health authorities in Denmark said that they are suspending the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine is a precautionary measure for some time after some patients incurred blood clots after receiving the inoculation and individual died. Similarly Norway and Iceland have also suspended the usage of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine for some time.

Denmark banned the vaccination days after the following reports of serious cases of blood clots among people vaccinated with AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine. The studies suggest that it has not been determined, at the nonce, that there's a link between the vaccine and therefore the blood clots. This has lead to temporary suspension of vaccine rollout until further notice.
