Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a contagion caused severe acute respiratory syndrome by coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). The disease has spread worldwide, resulting in an ongoing pandemic. The health authorities in Denmark said that they are suspending the use of AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine is a precautionary measure for some time after some patients incurred blood clots after receiving the inoculation and individual died. Similarly Norway and Iceland have also suspended the usage of AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine for some time.

Denmark banned the vaccination days after the following reports of serious cases of blood clots among people vaccinated with AstraZeneca's Covid-19 vaccine. The studies suggest that it has not been determined, at the nonce, that there's a link between the vaccine and therefore the blood clots. This has lead to temporary suspension of vaccine rollout until further notice.
